If you are a minimalist footwear enthusiast seeking pure, unrestricted movement, the Topo Connect Men's Shoes are tailored specifically for your trail running, walking, and all-day movement needs. What truly makes this footwear stand out is its lightweight, breathable upper materials, which provide a “2nd Skin” fit and feel. At just 232g (9 USM), it combines a zero-drop profile, a broad anatomical toe box, a default 10.5mm platform, and a finished Strobel board that lets you remove the OrthoLite Performance Insole to reduce the platform to 5.5 mm.

By using a no-midsole design, this shoe maintains natural support, low cushion, and a direct ground feel, while its balanced underfoot feel complements natural movement. You can take them onto mild to moderate trails thanks to the durable Vibram XS Trek EVO outsole, or wear them for walking and everyday active use. However, the Topo Connect is not gaiter-compatible, making it best suited to use without gaiters.

Key Features:

  • Lightweight: At 232g (size 9 USM), prevents heavy foot drag so you feel nimble, swift, and unrestricted.
  • Zero Drop: With a 10.5mm stack height (5.5mm without the insole), an entirely flat heel-to-toe platform that promotes a natural running motion and balanced foot posture, and keeps your feet ultra-close to the terrain while offering pure flexibility.
  • Anatomical Toe Box: Gives your toes ample room to splay naturally, aiding your balance and overall stability.
  • OrthoLite Performance Insole: Delivers light, breathable inner comfort that you can easily pull out whenever you want an even closer ground feel.
  • No Midsole Construction: Solves the problem of thick, heavy cushioning by stripping away traditional mid-foot foam layers to provide complete ground connection.
  • Low Cushion: Offers you a stripped-back, minimalist underfoot layer tailored for natural foot mechanics.
  • 5mm Strobel Footbed: Has a textile cover, allowing you to drop the stack height down to 5.5 mm simply by removing the sockliner.
  • Vibram XS Trek EVO Outsole: Provides you with exceptional durability, multi-surface grip, and traction on mild to moderate off-road paths.
Yes, the Topo Connect is an excellent choice for weightlifting and cross-training. Because it has no squishy midsole, it offers a rock-solid, ultra-low-to-the-ground platform that maximises power transfer and stability during heavy squats or deadlifts.
No. Traditional Topo models include mild arch contours, but the Topo Connect features a completely flat footbed. It is built intentionally to allow your foot muscles to engage fully and build natural strength.
Topo Connect is only good if you are already fully adapted to barefoot running. Heavy runners who strike hard on their heels will find the lack of a midsole painful on hard pavement. If you are a heavy runner and want to try Topo, models with thicker foam layers are safer starting points.
