Founded in 2018 by Matt Niutta, Fractel performance headwear was born out of a passion for running and the outdoors, but also out of resilience. When Matt was diagnosed with a degenerative eye condition, life slowed down in unexpected ways. No longer able to drive, he began to walk more, to spend time in nature and to nurture the power of running as both an emotional outlet and a source of freedom. 

Where Is Fractel From? 

Fractel has quickly grown from a small Australian brand on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, into a global community of runners, adventurers and explorers. After his diagnosis, Matt’s reflection gave rise to Fractel, a name derived from the word “fractal”. 

According to the brand, “A fractal can be defined as an infinite pattern and is often used to describe natural features such as trees, rivers and mountains. This connection with the natural environment and potential to be infinitely occurring was the inspiration behind the name.”
