Altra Olympus 275 HiLo Mens Shoes

Built to conquer steep climbs and fast descents, the Altra Olympus 275 HiLo Men’s Shoes deliver the perfect balance of durability, comfort, and traction on technical trails. The HiLo name honours the versatile terrain it was built for: high ridges, low basins, and every rugged path in between.

Your stride is supported by a zero drop platform that promotes natural alignment and low-impact movement. To keep your feet feeling refreshed through ultra-distance races and long training runs, the compressed-moulded EVA midsole features an updated Altra EGO Max foam formulation that is 15% lighter and 10% softer than previous iterations, delivering an ultra-plush high cushion feel.

Protecting your foot from harsh elements, the durable MATRYX one-piece woven upper incorporates an integrated scree sleeve around the ankle collar to lock out loose dirt and trail debris. You will also enjoy the roomy original FootShape fit, which gives your toes full freedom to splay naturally while providing generous, comfortable space through the midfoot.

Engineered with neutral support, the shoe relies on a Vibram Megagrip with TractionLug outsole that delivers fierce grip, adaptive traction, and confidence-inspiring stability on wet or dry ground.

What’s New?

Updated Altra EGO Max Midsole Foam: This new formulation integrates a compressed-moulded EVA (Ethylene Vinyl-Acetate) structure to create a ride that feels noticeably lighter and more luxurious than previous iterations, while maintaining long-lasting durability and providing extra responsive bounce.

Key Features:

Lightweight: At 298g (size 10.5 USM), delivers high-volume protection and maximum underfoot cushioning without unnecessary weight, keeping your feet agile and fresh over long miles.
MATRYX One-Piece Woven Upper: Durable, high-performance upper material crafted for lightweight strength and long-lasting trail use.
Zero Drop: Designed with zero heel-to-toe drop to encourage natural foot movement.
Scree Sleeve Collar: Built-in ankle collar protection to seal out grit, sand, and loose trail debris.
High Cushion: Built to handle the demands of all-day training sessions and ultra-trail racing.
Original FootShape Fit: Provides the roomiest toe-box profile so your toes can splay comfortably and naturally power your push-offs, and space through the midfoot.
Vibram Megagrip with TractionLug: Advanced outsole rubber compound paired with micro-textured lug designs to boost surface area traction by up to 50% on loose or wet surfaces.
Neutral Support: Allows your feet to move naturally without interfering with your gait cycle.

Because the Matryx woven fibres are hydrophobic, the Olympus 275 HiLo does not retain water weight like traditional sponge-like mesh. Water squishes out of the ventilation ports within a few steps of exiting a stream.

No, the integrated scree sleeve in Olympus 275 HiLo functions as a built-in gaiter, though it lacks the traditional Altra heel velcro trap.

No. The elasticised ankle cuff in Olympus 275 HiLo is stitched directly into the upper. It is comfortably loose around the achilles but tight enough to keep out large pebbles. If you have exceptionally thin ankles, fine dust or sand may still occasionally slip past the cuff.
