Fixed my heel pain

After 40 years of competitive running I developed an acute heel pain in my right foot which became so chronic I could hardly walk without extreme pain. I had never had this issue previously. I changed my insoles in my work shoes as I wear these shoes for the most time in a day on my feet. I replaced them with a FULL length Sofsole Plantar Fascia insole which has gel pod in the heel for protection on heel strike and a moulded plastic shank that runs the length of the Plantar Fascia tendon in the arch area Which stops any unnecessary twisting in the arch area. I ceased running for 2 weeks completely but still maintained a fast walk every 2nd day, mainly for my own sanity. From week 3 I added a short run between 5 – 8km twice a week and by the end of 4 weeks my soreness had completely gone. Another 2 months have passed and still no issues and I am back in full training with my long run back up to 25km. I do recommend giving the Sofsole Plantar Fascia insole a try and it will take the full 4 weeks to recover as promised by our supplier.
