Compare your insole length to the guide below. To find your insole length, measure your foot and add 1.5cm for a regular fit, 1cm for a snug fit or 2cm for a looser fit. If you are between sizes we recommend going for the larger size.
To measure your foot most accurately, stand on a tape measure with your heel against a wall. While standing up and looking over your foot, read the measurement at the end of your longest toe. Remember to measure both feet and use the measurement of your longer foot. Find out more here.
"Insole cm" is our in-store measurements of the shoe's insole."Brand cm" is the insole length the brand has given us, which is what you'll find on the box or on the brand's website. Our shoes are measured with the same method each time, so use the "Insole cm" column to get an accurate size you can compare across brands.

The Right Shoe Project
Shoes are made in many factories around the world and even models within the same brand can be quite different. To assist our customers in choosing the right size, we measure every shoe we receive. All this information is compiled so you can simply enter the length of your foot in centimetres, choose your preferred fit, and our calculator will recommend a size for you! Then, as you browse the website across various brands and models of shoes, we will provide a recommendation of your sizing in each model.
Still not sure? If you're in Brisbane, feel free to come in to our store in Milton for a fitting. Otherwise, you can contact our team for assistance and advice. If you would like to contribute to helping other customers please contact us with your shoe size, foot length and how well your shoes fit.

Staff Review - Morgan
Comfy all-rounders These are only my second pair of hiking boots, after my trusty Yak leather boots from 2008 finally fell apart. It took a lot to live up to those old favourites, and I think I tried just about every hiking boot we stock. The X Ultra stood out as soon as I tried them on. They are the perfect balance of flexible and stable, with excellent grip and moderate cushioning underfoot (which you definitely start to appreciate 10km down the trail). There's no wearing-in period for the upper or sole, though the soft foam collar around the upper ankle did adjust to the shape of my foot nicely after the first 2 wears. With only one set of open rivets and smooth laces, they can be put on and taken off in seconds like a pair of running shoes, but cinch so nicely around your foot and ankle. No injuries or slips at all on my first walk in Carnarvon Gorge, despite creek crossings, rock hopping and that very intimidating metal staircase to the Ampitheatre. Their only weakness I have found so far is that dreadful black clay mud which sticks aggressively to all surfaces and did manage to cover my whole sole at one point. I broke the clod with a stick and the rest came off by walking just fine. If you'll encounter a lot of that mud, I'd recommend something with more aggressive, widespread lugs like the Inov-8 X-Talon series, though you will sacrifice comfort. I look forward to many more years of happy hiking from these, and I firmly recommend them to others.
