Carbohydrate uptake usually takes 15 to 20 after ingestion of the gel. The peak maximum uptake is reached at approximately 30 to 45 minutes and most of the carbohydrates is absorbed within 60 to 75 minutes of consumption.

Maurten products are designed to have little to no flavour or taste. Flavour may be added but avoid using products with high acidity as this will affect the hydrogel structure and therefore the effectivity of the product.
