Boot Bananas' ingredients include:

• Bamboo charcoal - an amazingly absorptive material due to its very porous structure, which gives it a huge surface area, and a highly effective odour absorber. Used to control humidity and eliminate odors, it locks moisture in and releases only dry air. This material has been traditionally produced in China and Japan, and was documented as early as 1486 AD.
• Zeolite - incredibly good at adsorption (so much so that after the Fukushima nuclear disaster in 2011, sandbags of zeolite were dropped into the seawater near the power plant to adsorb radioactive caesium which was present in high levels). Zeolite has a wide range of applications, from deodorising cat litter to purifying water. It's used in the production of many laundry detergents and even in preparation of advanced materials and in nuclear reprocessing.
• Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) - an efficient odour absorber. It has been used as a form of soap in cleaning the home from Ancient Egyptian times up to the present day.
• Tea tree oil - well known for its use as a traditional herbal medicine. Recent studies support a role for the topical application of tea tree oil in skin care and for the treatment of various diseases and conditions. Tea tree oil appears to be effective against bacteria, viruses, fungal infections, mites and lice.
• Lavender oil - Advocates of alternative medicine claim that lavender oil can be used as an antiseptic and topical anaesthetic. Lavender also has relaxing properties when used in aromatherapy. This is the main scent that will keep your shoes smelling great.
• Lemon oil - said to have antibacterial properties as well as a lovely fresh scent.
