Meet Connor! An avid runner of Wildfire sports, he's tried every shoe you can think of. Here's what he has to say about the ASICS Superblast 3s.

The Superblast 2 was a tough act to follow, and definitely one of our most sought-after trainers at Wildfire. Naturally, I was very curious about what we would see in the next version. After putting 100km into the Superblast 3, I can confidently say this version has its own unique identity and purpose. Right out of the box, the first thing I noticed was that it felt lighter than its predecessor. The weight savings, combined with a ride that is noticeably softer and bouncier, transforms it into the kind of shoe that is just genuinely enjoyable to run in.

During my testing on the road, the "bounce pods" in the midsole were immediately noticeable. They provide a distinct energy return that makes the shoe feel alive, whether I’m taking it out for an easy recovery jog or a longer Sunday run. The max cushion, and super-responsive FF Leap foam is a legitimate leg-saver; I’ve finished my high-mileage days feeling far less fatigued, as the foam does a massive amount of work to dampen the impact of the roads and footpaths.

The fit is dialed in really nicely. It runs true to size, offering a roomy upper that gives me that essential thumb-width of space at the toes—a must-have for comfort when your feet start to swell deep into a longer effort. What surprised me most, however, was the stability. The base is impressively wide and comfortable. It’s so stable that I’d actually recommend it to runners who typically wear stability shoes but are looking for something lighter and more energetic to spice up their rotation.

Being 100km in, the durability has been a standout feature. Even after running a decent number of kilometres on the road, the outsole is barely worn and looks nearly new. It’s clear that this shoe is built to handle serious mileage without losing its pop, and I am keen to see how far it can go. While it’s soft enough for those slower easy days, it still has enough life to handle small amounts of tempo work, making it one of the most versatile tools in my current lineup.

My Summary: If you want a shoe that protects your legs without feeling sluggish or boring, the Superblast 3 is the one. It’s stable, energetic, and built to take some serious mileage.
