Black Diamond Black Gold is loose rock climbing chalk that uses Upsalite to absorb 30% more moisture than other compounds from your hands.

Black Gold's premium formula combines 90% White Gold, one of the most trusted chalks on the market, with 10% Pure Gold, a concentrated form of hyper-absorbent Upsalite. Upsalite is a recently developed and specifically engineered form of magnesium carbonate (chalk) designed to keep your hands super dry while climbing. Pure and extremely dry, Upsalite's chemically-modified structure absorbs ten times more moisture than regular chalk.

Scientists have attempted to create a pure of magnesium carbonate since 1820. Upsalite was engineered in Uppsala, Sweden by researchers who accidentaly left a reaction running over the weekend, and returned to find a powdered, dry and pure form of magnesium carbonate devoid of almost any water molecules.
