Elevate your off-road experience with the Altra Olympus 7 Men’s Shoes, designed specifically for your long-distance trail runs, all-day trail adventures, and rugged hikes. Built to keep you feeling fresh mile after mile, this maximum-cushion trail runner pairs an updated Altra EGO MAX midsole, engineered 15% lighter and 10% softer than its predecessor with a balanced zero drop platform and Original FootShape fit to promote natural foot positioning and optimal stride alignment.

The breathable engineered mesh upper features moulded TPU overlays for enhanced debris protection and lasting structural strength, while a plusher tongue and an integrated comfort collar cradle your ankle in a secure, pressure-free wrap.

Underneath, a high-traction Vibram outsole featuring a Vibram Megagrip outsole with TractionLug delivers relentless stability and adaptive grip over wet rocks, loose dirt, and unpredictable terrain.

Offering reliable neutral support, this high-performance shoe gives you the confidence, cushioning, and durability needed to tackle any distance on the trail.

What’s New?

Redesigned Engineered Mesh Upper: Improves airflow around your feet while resisting scuffs and trail debris.
Plusher Tongue and Integrated Comfort Collar: Offers a secure, smooth wrap around the ankle to prevent irritation.
Updated Altra EGO MAX Midsole: Features plush compression-moulded EVA foam that is 15% lighter and 10% softer than the previous version for responsive, plush cushioning.
Vibram Megagrip Outsole with Vibram TractionLug: Ensures outstanding ground grip and multi-surface stability on tricky trails.
New Moulded Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) Overlays: Provide targeted protection and durability against scuffs, sharp rocks, and rough trail wear.

Key Features:

Lightweight: 325g per shoe (size 10.5 USM) for a balanced, lightweight feel on long trail runs.
Zero Drop: Keeps your heel and forefoot at equal height to support a natural landing style.
GaiterTrap: Features integrated Velcro attachment points that hold your trail gaiters securely in place, keeping dirt, sand, and trail debris out of your shoes.
Original FootShape: Gives your toes room to splay naturally for improved stability and balance.

Altra addressed long-standing durability issues regarding the rubber layout. The Olympus 7 uses a redesigned Vibram Megagrip outsole pattern that expands rubber coverage over high-abrasion areas. This reduces the exposed foam sections that previously suffered from quick wear and tearing on sharp rocks.

The Olympus 7 features new moulded TPU overlays across the forefoot. Runners note that this offers significantly better protection against stubbing your toes on hidden tree roots or loose rocks compared to the softer, less reinforced mesh on previous iterations.

No. Reviewers emphasise that the Olympus 7 is a trail trainer built for distance and security, not speed. Due to its wide base and high stack height, it feels somewhat lumbering and cumbersome if you are trying to do quick, agile footwork or fast direction changes on high-speed technical trails.
